Busy Benjamin

Benjamin isn't being difficult; he’s just having a difficult time.

Benjamin’s brain works differently, and that is a wonderful thing! He notices the tiny details others miss, creates vibrant art, and has more energy than a lightning bolt. But school can be a challenge when your legs want to jump and your thoughts want to fly.

Busy Benjamin is a joyful celebration of neurodiversity. It’s a must-read for parents, teachers, and children alike, proving that when we change the environment to fit the child, we discover just how brilliant they truly are.

Join Benjamin as he learns to navigate school, one "buzzing" idea at a time!

Behind the Story

As a teacher’s aide in a specialist school, I have the privilege of working with incredible neurodiverse children every single day. I wrote Busy Benjamin because I wanted to see more neuro-affirming stories that move away from "fixing" a child and toward supporting their unique needs. Relating to neurodiversity myself, I wanted to create a book that celebrates the "buzzing" energy of a busy brain while showing that with the right tools, every child can thrive exactly as they are.
