Hey Everyone!
I've still got my two front teeth, so that's not what I want for Christmas... What I don't have for Christmas, though, is my husband. The military got him for Christmas this year.
Yes, I knew when he joined the Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) that he might miss major holidays, but knowing and experiencing are different things. This is the first time he's missed Christmas and it probably won't be the last. But that's just another part of military life.
We've chosen to look at the positives. This year, the kids will have two Christmases. One with their Grandparents on December 25 and another when Daddy comes home to visit in January.
Since we began this military journey, we've learnt to pick up everything and start all over. Our kids have learnt to make new friends. I've learnt to reinvent my career. As a military family, we've grown stronger and learnt to be resilient. And that's one of the best gifts the military has given us.
For a chance to win an audio copy of my military life themed flash fiction collection, Wife, Mother, Woman, leave a comment below and tell me what you'd like for Christmas. (No, I'm not Santa and I can't grant your wishes, but I am a sticky beak and I'd love to know) If you'd like to check out the ebook version, I've dropped the price to free on Amazon for a couple of days in the lead up to Christmas. You can find it HERE.
I've also joined together with 29 other authors for a Christmas Blog Hop. Tea's post (HERE) comes before mine, and Kate's post (HERE) comes after. You can find links to all our posts HERE. Check out all the individual posts for exclusive giveaways and make sure you enter the Rafflecopter below for your chance to win the major prizes. You can re-enter the Rafflecopter every day so make sure you bookmark THIS PAGE and come back again tomorrow. The major prize is drawn on Christmas Eve.
