OLD POST - Audible has since removed the ability to gift individual audiobooks so this process no longer works

Are you an author or narrator who has just published an audiobook? Do you have a lovely little list of Audible codes to giveaway? Congratulations! But before you go handing out those 13 characters of gold, read this post.
When you give the code to someone and they apply it to their Audible account, it will add one credit to their account which they can redeem on any book. So they have the ability to use your credit for a different book. Even if they use the credit for your book, they have the ability to return the book to Audible within 12 months, whether they have read it or not, and get the credit back to use on another book. This may not be a concern if you are giving the code to to your mum (hopefully), but the best way to use the codes is to gift the book itself rather than the code. Gifted books can't be returned, and the the gift card email looks more professional. Make sure you get the same email address of the person you are gifting to, that they use for their Audible account.
How to use Audible codes to gift an audiobook
- First, apply all the promotional codes to your own account.
- Go to the Audible home page.
- Select Gift Centre from the drop down menu under your name.
- Select Need to redeem a promotional code.
- Enter your codes one at a time and click redeem to add them all to your account. This way you won't need to keep track of which codes you've used and which ones you haven't.
- Once all your codes have been applied to your account, Search for the book you want to gift.
- Navigate to the books page.
- Click on GIVE AS A GIFT
- Fill in the relevant fields in the pop up.
- Use the drop down menu to choose an appropriate theme for the card.
- Customise the message.
- You can choose to send the email now or schedule for later.
- Once the send to email address and from name fields have been added, the preview button will become available.
- Click Preview.
- Proofread, and if you are happy, click Add to Cart.
- If you notice any mistakes, there is the option to Edit.
- Make sure the little box in the Apply Credits column is ticked.
- Click Next Step
- Follow the prompts to complete the purchase.
